Capital punishment in Illuminatia

Capital punishment has been eradicated in Illuminatia, as the practice has been found to be an unnecessary and ineffective means of encouraging justice, ensuring peace, reducing deviant behavior, and eliminating criminality. Additionally, the method of punishment is considered to be cruel and inhumane. Furthermore, Illuminatian society understands that capital punishment will always be inherently unfair and unjust when utilized as a part of a criminal justice system that is to some extent intrinsically flawed, biased, and incomplete in its knowledge due to its implementation by an imperfect society and by imperfect beings who are neither all-knowing or all-seeing.

The Illuminatian government instead prefers to employ the corporal destruction ceremony as its ultimate punishment reserved only for the most severe of crimes and for subjects whose culpability has been established with the highest level of certainty.
