Neoclassical Range

Location of the Neoclassical Range in eastern Illuminatia

Points of interest: Bald Mountain, Sibelius

The Neoclassical Range is a mountain range in extreme northeastern Illuminatia. The Neoclassical Range abuts the eastern coast of the Classical Peninsula as well as the most easterly stretches of the Illuminatian continent's northeast.

The Neoclassical Range extends primarily in a north-to-south orientation, with a thin strip of mountains extend westward on a narrow peninsula forming the continent's most northeasterly extents. The mountain range is split in two distinct halves roughly by a sizeable river valley, halfway between the range's most northerly and southerly boundaries. The easterly branch of the Neoclassical Range follows the eastern coast, forming dramatic coastal landscapes with tall cliffs and deep fjords. The westerly branch separates the Wolfgang Amadeus Megalopolitan Complex to the west from the river valley and cities like Mussorgsky and Grieg in the peninsula's interior.

The Neoclassical Range is known for its remarkably jagged, sometimes snow-capped peaks as well as the forests that cover the mountain's lower elevations. The climate in the Neoclassical Range is cold and snowy for much of the year. Warmer seasons are mild at higher elevations and rarely melt all of the ice the mountain streams and creeks.

Residents from across Illuminatia who wish to recreate within the natural wonders of the Neoclassical Range typically begin their voyages in the eastern city of Sibelius, which is centrally located among the most breathtaking peaks of the mountain range. Many travelers also arrive at Bald Mountain for excursions focusing on the southern regions of the Neoclassical range.
