The Northern Comprehensive Educational Facility (NCEF) is a public institution of combined primary and secondary education located in Sonata. NCEF offers a generalized primary education of a standard nature, as well a college-style secondary degrees concentrating in the human arts and sciences, business and organizational theory, and the natural sciences.
The educational facility is unusual for a standard comprehensive education facility in that it is relatively well-regarded for a specialized area of study—in this case the NCEF's specialized secondary degrees in insurance theory, business and enterprise management, and general engineering. Primary school students of NCEF attend at a handful comprehensive campuses located throughout the city of Sonata, while secondary students attend college's massive central campus in central Sonata.
Total enrollment at the Northern Comprehensive Educational Facility totals 116,000 students, with about half its primary students originating from the city of Sonata and its immediate surroundings. The remainder of NCEF's students are college pupils pursuing secondary degrees—most of whom hail from the greater Anglo-Russo-Hungarian Megalopolitan Complex. NCEF is popular with local Sonata parents because it provides a natural educational path through the secondary level of education. NCEF prepares graduating secondary students for an easy transition to a nearby university to pursue a more advanced tertiary degree or placement in a career.
NCEF receives funding from the Bureau of Education and Enlightenment (BEE) and oversight from the BEE's Office of Curriculum and Programming. As with most public educational institutions, public funding accounts for nearly all of NCEF's operational resources. This funding is proportional to the number of students the university admits. Revenue for the educational facility totals about 11,982,900μ/AU.
As with all public education institutions, the Northern Comprehensive Educational Facility enjoys a nearly 100% placement rate upon graduation thanks to a government-assisted matching system administered by the BEE's Office of Assessment and Placement. NCEF students seeking employment in positions of business and enterprise management as well as in the insurance industry tend to find ideal employment situations at a rate far exceeding most standard public institutions of higher education.
