The Recreational Science Institute (RSI) is a scholarly organization and institution of quaternary education located in Adamopolis devoted to assisting curious people in their engagement of recreational exploration and examination of the natural sciences and technology.
While deriving the majority of its business from people who wish to pursue discovery relating to their casual scientific interests on a relatively informal basis without pursuing any official academic credentials, RSI also attracts quaternary students seeking to fulfill their ongoing educational obligations. RSI accepts tuition credit from the Bureau of Education and Enlightenment (BEE) and other sources for these students.
Pupils at the Recreational Science Institute come from across Illuminatia, but the majority of students hails from the Randall Bay Megalopolitan Complex and central Illuminatia. Annual quaternary enrollment at RSI averages 10,000 students, with many more recreational science customers, who travel to Adamopolis to take part in RSI a la carte programming. Quaternary students may take part in RSI's short 20 to 40 DU courses, while recreational customers can drop-in without appointment after an initial registration. RSI derives 4,570,000μ/AU in revenue from these two primary sources of clientele, employing about 750 highly-specialized teachers.
While some Illuminatians might confuse RSI with being an educational institution that teaches courses in the recreational and sport sciences, RSI is actually better-versed in teaching advanced physics, astronomy, chemistry, quantum mechanics, theoretical mathematics, and other sciences to people who wish to pursue such studies as a hobby. Rather than teaching recreational sciences, RSI recreationally teaches science for people who enjoy scientific inquiry as a leisurely pursuit.
