Rossini is the largest city in Illuminatia's somewhat sparsely-populated northwestern mainland region, providing the popular gateway to the northwest for northbound nautical traffic traveling upstream via the Fiume Gioachino.
Prominent economic forces include the publishing, natural resources extraction, and operatic performance industries. Rossini is home to Western Illuminatia Omniversity, a leading private institution of quaternary education known to mature learners throughout western Illuminatia. As the dominant population center of the area, Rossini naturally became the heart of journalism and information dissemination for the northwestern continental interior.
