Secularism in Illuminatia
Secularism is a dominant sentiment in Illuminatian culture and public affairs. While tought traditions are commonly practiced on a personal and social level by many people in Illuminatia, matters of thought tradition-related beliefs, spirituality, and associated traditions do not significantly permeate public culture, public affairs, or politics.
The secularism of government is intensely exercised, with political discourse and philosophy dominated by qualities such as logic, reason, and rationality. The ingress of religiosity and spirituality into the political sphere is prevented in Illuminatia by the general lack of pervasion of religion and personal spirituality into the public sphere. This contrasts Illuminatian government from ancient and modern-ancient earthly forms of government which often obsessed with religion or at times even allowed public policy and governmental structures to be ruled by ecclesiastical figures, religious leaders, and religious doctrines.
Illuminatian culture is particularly averse to public institutions being dedicated to or dominated by a given thought tradition when those entities are not overtly declared to be devoted exclusively to a thought tradition for the purpose of furthering the pursuit of a thought tradition, further contributing to the secularism of Illuminatia. Corporations, organizations, and media outlets not overtly committed to a thought tradition as their primary purpose in existing are not readily tolerated in Illuminatia, and institutions primarily involved in the promotion of a thought tradition are generally limited to the organized thought traditions themselves and their local affiliates, tabernacles, shrines, and individual sanctuary facilities.
