Amalgamated biography

Amalgamated biography is a well-beloved genre of non-fiction narrative storytelling in Illuminatian literature and theatre. Writings of the amalgamated biography genre tell the stories of consolidated, non-personal group-based historical figures, referred to as amalgamated historical figures, who collectively reached a status of notability and societal importance in Illuminatian history.

The amalgamated historical figures most commonly found as subjects of amalgamated biography will be found long into the past of Illuminatian or Lucidian history—generally at least one generation separated from any person alive at the time of writing. This temporal buffer provides time for the amalgamated historical figure to become established as a cohesive identity without the risk of any unwanted attention attributed to any individual or individuals who might be identified as part of the historical group.

An amalgamated biography might read very similarly to historical fiction, with the notable exception that the events portrayed are real and authentic to the best of the recollection of the sources referenced by the authors.

Amalgamated biography is frequent reading in primary schools as well as in colleges and universities, where secondary education standards demand a certain level of study of the humanities, including Illuminatian and human history. Occasionally, amalgamated biographies will be suggested reading for pupils pursuing continuing quaternary education when the facts and conclusions surrounding certain amalgamated historical figures and the events surrounding their era evolve with emerging truths and changes in contemporary cultural sensibilities
