Department of Social Harmony

The Illuminatia Department of Social Harmony (DSH) is the agency of the Illuminatian government responsible for maintaining the health of society in Illuminatia. The DSH is behind public measures that promote social cohesion, cultural pride, positive societal structures, and an enduring high-quality civilization.

In much the same way as the Department of Health and Wellbeing (DHW) is responsible for the physical and emotional health of individuals and the sum of medical healthiness of the population as a whole, the DSH manages the health and wellbeing of the collective society rather than the individual.

The DSH is most visible in its efforts in promoting public happiness through support of social-benefit organizations, public-interest associations, social campaigns, and public-service communication efforts. The DSH receives credit for financially and operationally supporting a wide variety of organizations. The DSH heavily supports collective postures encouraging diversity and xenophilia.

The DSH works in conjunction with the Bureau of Reproduction and Copulation (BRC)—in particular its Office of Demography (OOD)—in furthering the vestiges of the Lucidus mission directive to ensure the survival of a sustainable, quality population of the Illuminatian branch of humanity upon the Neonisi planet. The DSH's success is based on the goal of increasing the probability of the success of human civilization in Illuminatia.

The DSH delegates its inherent authority of investigation, assessment, and intervention in matters relating to the mass media to the consortium who maintains the Prosocial Behaviour Rating (PBR). The DSH maintains this separation and abstains from control to avoid any perception of government intervention in the exercise of free speech and to prevent any potential chilling effect on free speech that might come from real or perceived governmental involvement.
