The River Mystic is a body of water flowing from northeast to southwest through southwestern Illuminatia, with a terminus in the upper Philharmonic Bay at Voyage a Deux, along Illuminatia's southwestern coast. The River Mystic has headwaters in the central portion of the Transilluminatian Range, including tributaries flowing from the Mystic Pass. The River Mystic played a significant role in the settlement and development of western Illuminatia, as it provided both a convenient mode of transportation as well as a natural barrier to conquest by adjacent populations.
Major cities residing along the length of the River Mystic, in order from upriver to terminus, include Miles Davis, Weather Report, and Voyage a Deux. Populations living adjacent to the River Sinfonia are primarily descendants of the second multiversal duplication of survivors from the Lucidus II ship. The River Modest flows through a region with significant adoption of the Western Lucidian language.
