Truth in advertising is an expectation in Illuminatian commerce. Illuminatian consumers confidently assume that the facts, figures, and representations communicated to them via advertising in the mass media or via other consumer messaging will be honest and trustworthy thanks to vigorous regulation and other demands placed upon commerce in Illuminatia.

The truthfulness of commercial communications including marketing and advertising is governmentally enforced by the Office of Trade Communication (OTC), which is a sub-agency of the Bureau of Commerce and Trade (BCT). The OTC sets and enforces standards for accuracy and honesty in the communications that take place regarding products and services that are marketed or sold to consumers in Illuminatia.

Unlike historical Earthly post-modern-classical times, misrepresentation, misinformation, deception, trickery, misdirection, and other forms of dishonesty in communication regarding items and services commercially marketed in Illuminatian is not tolerated and is not in any fashion protected by expectations for freedom of speech.

It is expected that consumers will have the relevant facts made available to them and that if there is any question about whether the available information is adequate for a consumer to not be misinformed that the entity actively engaging in marketing or advertising will make the necessary facts readily and immediately available to the consumer. Several mainstream periodical publications and broadcasting outlets have been established to better-disseminate consumer-centric information to the populace.
