Ludwig van Island
Ludwig van Island is Illuminatia's second-largest island, excluding the Illuminatian continent itself. Situated to the east of Illuminatia's "second" peninsula, Ludwig van Island is separated from the continent by the Ludwig van Channel.
Ludwig van Island contains some very densely populated regions, including the western coastal plain of the island, which is included in the Brookeview Ludwig Megalopolitan Complex. Prominent cities on Ludwig van Island include Beethoven, Bach, Valkyries, and Schumann.
Prominent geographic features include the Ludwig van Island extension of the Lucidian Range, a body of mountains extending the length of the island from west to southeast. The mountains have the appearance of forming a geologic continuation of the Lucidian Range dominating the adjacent second peninsula.
Ludwig van Island was settled by descendants of the third multiversal duplication of the Lucidus III ship. The island's inhabitants share a common ancestry with much of northeastern Illuminatia, including the adjacent continental metropolitan region of Für Elise.
The climate on Ludwig van Island is moderate, with warm and cool seasons. Much of the island receives some frozen precipitation during the cool season, with snow more prevalent in higher elevations.
