Office of Community Moderation
The Illuminatia Office of Community Moderation (OCM) is a government office operating within the Illuminatia Department of Karma Adjustment (DKA). The OCM oversees the accreditation, certification, and authorization of community moderation agencies operating in Illuminatia.
In addition to certifying the correct operation of community moderation agencies, the OCM verifies the accuracy of karmic balances of parties taking part in karmic mediation. The OCM checks the veracity of Karmic Unit transactions that take place in association with karmic adjustments administered by community moderation agencies.
In order to facilitate the exchange of Karmic Unit balances, the Department of Karma Adjustment requires community moderation agencies to be registered and in good standing with the OCM. This is done to ensure the agencies are conducting their business honestly and accurately and are providing truly copacetic, fair, and respectable resolutions to civil disputes as they are employed to do. The OCM makes sure exchanges of Karmic Units are proportional to the good or bad deeds in question and that the karmic rebalancing activities prescribed are reasonable, safe, and equitable.

Community moderation agencies are organizations or commercial enterprises that are permitted to engage in Karmic Unit transactions on behalf of parties that enlist the agency to assist in moderating a civil dispute. By DKA rules, no entity other than the persons engaging directly in an exchange may make Karmic Unit transactions on behalf of an individual or entity unless they are registered and in good standing with the OCM as a community moderation agency.
Individuals and/or entities when pursuing a karmic transaction may elect to employ a community moderation agency to assist, preside over, or otherwise facilitate a Karmic Unit transaction. This is a common choice when the situation is especially complex or when the stakes are unusually high, such as in a contentious civil dispute.
