The Illuminatia Office of Forensic Climatology (OFC) is a government office operating within the Illuminatia Department of Climate and Meteorology (DCM) dedicated to using climate forensics to investigate the past climate of the Neonisi planet.

The OFC is tasked with learning more about the historical climate of Illuminatia—particularly the climate that existed before human habitation. The DCM attaches significant importance to determining the normal climatic conditions of Neonisi in order to make it possible to establish whether and to what extent human settlement might affect the planet's climate. Also important is the task of ascertaining the frequency and commonality of past meteorological events in order to predict the future occurrence of such events in the service of human safety and effective infrastructure engineering.

Forensic information regarding the climate is critical to preventing harm to the environment and predicting how future events might impact natural resources. The goals of the Office of Forensic Climatology related to information on climatological quality are closely aligned with Department of Calamity and Catastrophe (DCC) offices including the Office of Atmospheric Conservation (OAC), the Office of Landscape and Terrain (OLT), the Office of Ecosystem Conservation (OEC), and the Office of Aquatic Resources (OAR). The work of the OFC extensively informs these DCC offices in their efforts to minimize the extent to which human activity affects the climate—and by extension, the atmosphere, water quality, landscape integrity, and ecosystem survival on a micro and macro scale.

Weather prediction also relies heavily on the Office of Forensic Climatology. OFC data regarding historical climatic, weather, atmospheric, and hydrological patterns are the bedrock of weather prediction. The DCM found limited success in accurately predicting the weather before the OFC established historical climatic data and a framework for understanding the general workings of the natural forces of Neonisi.

The OFC makes heavy use of the methods and principles of climate forensics developed at institutions of secondary and tertiary education such as the University of the Baroque, University of Excess Knowledge, and the College of Extensive Brilliance.
