Requiem is a major western city situated upon Lower Philharmonic Bay. Requiem is the second-largest city in Illuminatia's west and is the sixth-most populous city on the continent. A primary settlement city, Requiem is the anchor city of the Southwestern Megalopolitan Complex.

Requiem is Illuminatia's predominant leader in the tourism and copulatory trades industries. With hot, dry weather, bright, sandy beaches, and warm ocean waters, the Requiem area is a destination for beachgoers AU-round. Requiem was settled by the Second Multiversal Duplication of survivors from the Lucidus II ship, forming the third leg of a trifecta of cities settled by survivors from that ship, which includes Anthem and Harmony—two larger major cities in east-central Illuminatia settled by occupants of the same ship. Early in Illuminatian exploratory history, Requiem was the second instance of expeditionary forces finding and contacting a third multiversal duplication of the Lucidus survivors, making this city important in confirming earlier findings of a multiversal reality that were first suspected when explorers from the Randall Bay region stumbled upon Lucidus III settlers in Symphony.
The strong population base in Requiem is thanks to factors involved in the original settlement of Illuminatia. The Requiem area was the location of densely-spaced landings of a majority of the modules from the Lucidus II ship. The settlements from these multiple landings, being in close proximity, quickly grew together and unified into one large city.
Requiem, like many of Illuminatia's largest cities, finds the origin of its name in musical terminology.
