Elton is a city situated upon the River Elegy in southwestern Illuminatia. In close proximity to the much larger city of Requiem, Elton is a part of the Southwestern Megalopolitan Complex. Elton maintains its strongest cultural ties with the smaller upriver city of Candle-in-the-Wind as well as other smaller regional cities such as Your Song, Rocket Man, Crocodile Rock, and Bennie-and-the-Jets.
As of the 250 AI Census, Elton had a population of 135,121 residents, making it Illuminatia's 71st-largest city. Elton has experienced impressive growth since then and it is estimated the city will have a population of nearly 430,000 by the 300 AI Census, an increase of just short of 320% over 50 AU. Elton is home to the region's primary institution of tertiary education, the Collegiate University of the Multiverse.
