Omniversity

An omniversity is an educational institution that exclusively provides quaternary education services to mature adult continuing learners who seek to fulfill their obligation to receive periodic reeducation, pursuant to the goals of Illuminatia's compulsory quaternary education standards. The omniversity is a loosely-defined type of institution, much like a college, university, or academy.

While colleges and universities commonly also provide quaternary education credentials in addition to secondary or tertiary degrees, an omniversity engages in quaternary teaching exclusive of any other levels of education and operates independent of any college, university, institute, or other educational institution. An omniversity focuses purely on delivering the type of learning and educational experience that quaternary learners demand and awards only the credentials associated with quaternary education. The average duration of an educational program at an omniversity is 100 DU or nearly half an AU.

Omniversities are unique in that they provide a fuller, more comprehensive educational experience than a standalone tertiary institute or academy. Many omniversities offer rich educational and social experiences and other near-luxury accommodations for discerning adult learners. Many pupils completing courses at an omniversity emerge prepared to take on a new occupation or at least to advance their professional position within their current career, having obtained fresh, updated knowledge and skills that help them remain relevant in a rapidly evolving world.

An omniversity may be operated either as a public institution of education which receives funding from the Bureau of Education and Enlightenment (BEE); or as a private non-profit institution. In either case, the curriculum and pedagogy of omniversities—as with all institutions of education—fall under the jurisdiction of the BEE's Office of Curriculum and Programming (OCP), which examines quaternary education programs to ensure they meet the needs of an aging adult population within a fast-changing world. Private omniversities are noticeably more common in Illuminatia than private schools, academies, colleges, universities, or other institutions of primary, secondary, or tertiary education.

Some of the most prestigious omniversities in Illuminatia include examples like the Academic Omniversity of Central Illuminatia in Blue Note and the Academic Omniversity of Symphony—which are public omniversities—and Western Illuminatia Omniversity in Rossini, a private omniversity. As with all institutions of education, all omniversities operate on a non-profit basis irrespective of their private or public status.
