Allegro, Illuminatia's tenth-largest city, is the second-largest and easternmost major city in Illuminatia's South Coast Megalopolitan Complex as well as the largest city on the southern coast of the Modal Peninsula. The coastal city is situated on the north shore of Symphonic Bay.
Allegro, a dense urban city, is a leader in the energy industry and is also a major player in other scientific research and engineering related industries. Much of the energy development and research taking place in Illuminatia happens here. Considering that all energy produced in Illuminatia is clean energy, the development that takes place in Allegro is entirely centered around finding ways to make use of the natural forces present on Illuminatia's surface, including solar, hydrothermal, and hydrodynamic energy.
Allegro is home to the University of the Fourth Peninsula, which provides secondary and tertiary education to many of the city's advanced learners. Allegro's primary and secondary learners are also served by the Advanced Education Institution of Allegro. The prominent newspaper in the city is the Allegro Courier.
The dominant financial institution in Allegro is the Repository of Allegro. The city is home to Escape Goat, Inc, a linguistic organization which works to preserve the Quasilucidian language, which is spoken widely in southern Illuminatia. Allegro is also the site of the headquarters of consumer goods manufacturer Moderate Value.
As of the 250 AI Census, Allegro had a population of 1,766,902 residents. The city has experienced significant growth since then and it is estimated the city will have a population over 3,000,000 by the 300 AI Census, or an increase of approximately 210% over 50 AU.
A site of a handful of landings from the Second Multiversal Duplication of the Lucidus III ship, Allegro is a primary settlement city. The multiple landings at this site following the Lucidus termination event allowed Allegro to grow at a faster rate than primary settlement cities seeded with only one landing.
Allegro, like many of Illuminatia's largest cities, finds the origin of its name in musical terminology.
